Charlotte Wine + Food Week presented by Truist hosted the best of rock-star BBQ newcomer Jon G's out of Peachland, NC - named best BBQ in the Carolinas by Eater in 2021 (which says a lot because they are makers of mainly Texas-style BBQ!). They have lines at their restaurant every Saturday (the only day they are open) and draw long lines when they bring their food truck into Charlotte from time to time. We were excited to host this "no waiting in line" seated BBQ event with featured a family-style offering of nearly everything on Jon G’s menu. Needless to say, no one left hungry! Throughout the evening, guests imbibed on an array of wines from @AndisWines created under the direction of famed California winemaking consultant @Philippe Melka. This brand new CW+F Week finale experience was a delicious, mouth-watering hit all around! We may just have to bring it back next year.

Special guests included Garren “Jon G” & Kelly Kirkman, proprietors of Jon G’s Barbecue, and Lorenzo Muslia, Partner & National Sales Manager, at Andis Wines.

Featured wines included 2021 Andis Sauvignon Blanc, 2019 Andis Cabernet Franc, 2020 Painted Fields Curse of Knowledge (Bordeaux Blend), 2019 Painted Fields Old Vine Zinfandel, and the 2019 Andis Petite Sirah.

All proceeds benefited A Child’s Place, Augustine Literacy Project, GenOne, and The Learning Collaborative.
